Character Design

Traditional Painting

One of my favorite ways to start my day is to wake up at 6 am, before the world is awake, and spend one or two hours drawing a character. I try to do these without no reference and that way force myself to rely and strengthen my visual memory. There is a certain freedom that comes with just visualizing things in my mind, instead of spending hours on end looking for reference online.

Digital Sketches

For me, character design is about expression. Creating characters that make a statement and let us relate to them as if they were real people. Here is a selection of my sketches, usually done in less than an hour in the early morning or in between meetings.
