REKKA

I worked as a story development and visual development artist for a Japanese 3D animated movie called ‘Rekka’. I wrote some of the scenes, story boarded the broad strokes of the movie and helped define what the story would be. After the storyboards were approved I proceeded to paint my own shots to turn them into color scripts and eventually did some clean up to get more finished illustrations that would inform the movie’s production.

Color Scripts

Doing color scripts this early on in a movie’s production is extremely rare but in this case they served as a vehicle for chewing on the story and understanding how the light and colors would flow through the movie’s main beats.
